Taken it off the road for a ground up rebuild now. Making the jump from the NA setup above, to a basic turbo setup. Not after huge HP, after stripping out all the sound deadening the car wouldn't weigh much more than 900kg so it isn't going to need big numbers to be interesting.
NA it made 112kw ATW, haven't run it with the turbo yet. Shooting for 160 to start with.
Will put it back together this winter when I have some spare time.
It's now Satin black not Black like in those pics.

Just like women, CRX's are better with D's than B's.

And Yeah.. Jon's car was a huge inspiration when I first got mine.

Crazy power for NA!

You should try to get the factory body kit for it (or lip kit). Mate has it, looks undeniably perfect with it slapped on there!

Around $5k give or take. I did all of the assembly and most of the machining myself, but had the block dipped and head done elsewhere.
So far spent about $2k on the turbo setup.

yer but 112kw from a B16a (J-SPEC) is much easier to achieve.

ZC FTW

Developed a soft spot for them when I saw a ZC with basic bolt ons pull 89KW, same power as a B16a2. Same dyno.
Sounded hawt!

Pfft who needs VTEC.

one of my mates had one of these. seemed like a fun car with pretty good power for a 1.6 NA. love the wheels, but i do suggest you get rid of the kit. go with something like the factory kit or lip kit, but you've already said your looking for one  will be sweet once you've got the turbo setup back in and its looking sweet!

well done

Yeah should look sweet with a more suttle front bar. Other than that it looks really nice and the power figures look good. Will be impressive with the turbo no doubt.

Ah the old CR-X...
This thing was going around before my time, unfortunately I never got to see it on the road.

I miss my stocker crx, had so much fun in it, was quick for what it was. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to drive this thing!

Didn't the crx get voted like the worst car of the year as far as crash testing goes?

Well at the time it was released it got a 4 star driver rating, and 5 star passenger rating.

The cars tend to get totaled, but the occupants seems to fare pretty well.

If it's not one thing it's another.

as i have said to many... stuff the D series.

It was good for its time.. but its almost to say who would stick with an CA18DET when an SR20DET is on hand.

Some people so called fight to continue the upkeep(maintance) and they get so sick of fixing it they decided to sell the whole car.

I really dont know how much your into that CRX.
But only time will tell wont it ?!?!

Well now that I FINALLY have some time to work on it, I'm making quite a bit of progress.

While I understand your argument with the D series, I've spent so much on this one that I couldn't justify going B or K series.

Really, for the age of the car, and what the poor thing has been through I can't complain at all about the maintenance. I've had it since I was 17, so 8 years later I'm not in any hurry to get rid of it.

Either way, new mounts worked a treat, it's getting painted this weekend (assuming nothing else f**ks up) and should be good to go in another week or two after that.

I still stand by my original statement... CRX's just like women are better with D's than B's.

And oddly with age there is the engine mount sagging issue... Nothing a bit of silicone can't fix.

Nah as much as I'd love a K swap, I just cant justify it.

Well paint should be done by the end of the week anyway... :o
